Flynn didn’t think he had ever been more thankful in his life than when his Oncologist told him he could go home with Maddy after his first round of chemotherapy. He’d been in hospital for days, being poked, prodded, analysed, stared at. He’d hated every minute. The little gleaming light at the end of the tunnel had been Maddy’s presence; he knew he couldn’t have gotten through it without her and probably wouldn’t have wanted to either.

( As the hours ticked by he seemed to get sicker and sicker. The team of doctors he had couldn’t issue a prognosis... )
